Private Treaty

Private Treaty Bulls

We sell all of our bulls private treaty which gives us the time to personally get to know you and your program at your convenience, not ours. It is important to us that we match you up with the genetics that best fit your overall program and to assist you in achieving your goals.

Our bulls are “Raised Rough to be Tough” in a ranch environment, not a padded stall barn. We understand that soundness and the ability for a young bull to trail a cow in rough country and get her bred is very important to you as well it is with us. For us, it is survival of the fittest only allowing the best of our herd’s genetics to be passed on through planned natural cover and in herd AI matings.

We only sell eighteen month old bulls that are developed on hay in the winter and grass in the summer. This has always been our program so as to provide you with properly developed bulls that are fertile and sound and will stay that way. The only surprise you will have at the end of the breeding season with a Wooden Cross bull is that you will like him better then the day you turned him out. Longevity in our herd sires and cowherd is an economic must. For you the longevity of Wooden Cross bulls will bring the average breeding cost per cow down to the lowest level you have ever experienced. Isn’t that really what it is all about, getting the best genetics delivered to the most females at the lowest possible cost?

We feel that favorable maternal traits in our females help us to produce better young herd sires for you. With traits such as sound structure, moderation, fertility and calf raising ability also comes efficiency. Easy fleshing and the ability to gain weight efficiently will add more to your bottom line then any other single trait. We are identifying correlations between easy fleshing, cost effective cattle harvested and the cow families and sire groups that produced them. It’s all about quality and pounds with the lowest input costs possible that will provide you with favorable results. Whether you sell calves at weaning, yearlings after growing, or go all the way to harvest against a grid, our bulls will provide you with added pounds, quality and premiums.

Some breeders of registered livestock are proud of what they gross. Commercial cattle women and men however are quietly grateful for what they can net. I understand the challenges that the commercial cattle producer faces because I am one and have been for many years.

This fall we will be offering 100 sixteen to eighteen month old bulls that will be rugged and ready to go to work for you no matter how tough your environment is. Please give us a chance to become your Charolais bull provider. Thank you.

Private Treaty Females

Our goal is to produce the most maternal, highest-quality herd of Charolais females that can be found anywhere in the country. Our cows must possess the same qualities that would be expected from any successful commercial cowherd.  Our females must provide us with powerful bull calf progeny as well as high-end attractive replacement heifers that can go on to duplicate their favorable traits.

Careful attention to detail both in the pasture and on the spreadsheet gives us the information we need to constantly improve our program. No pedigree will stop us from culling a cow that isn’t getting the job done.

Our cows are moderate, easy fleshing and very maternal with outstanding production records. It is our goal to produce outcross Charolais genetics that will continue to get the job done right for our bull customers as well as provide new blood lines for other registered producers.

We sell all of our female’s private treaty so whether you are looking for just one or two females or a large group we have all classes available. Thank you.
